The Best Kind of Detour: Samosas by the Roadside

Image
There’s a specific kind of magic that happens when you stop looking for the "perfect" shot and start looking for the "perfect" moment. Earlier today, I was chasing the light on my way to Mandal Pond . I had my eyes set on the water and the horizon, but about halfway there, the smell of hot oil and toasted spices pulled me over to the shoulder of the road. I found this tiny, weathered cart tucked under the shade of a neem tree, and I just couldn't resist. The Gallery: Golden Hour & Golden Crust   The setup was simple, but the atmosphere was heavy with that classic roadside charm. You can almost hear the sizzle of the fritters hitting the oil. Texture is everything. The smooth, golden triangles of the samosas—street food is a masterclass in geometry and cravings.  More Than Just a Snack What I love about street photography is the story of the hustle . This little cart isn't just a place to grab a quick bite; it’s a landmark for locals and a lifeline for h...

A Sunday Ride to Eklingji: Royal Enfield 350 Electra & The Red Algae Mystery

Image
Sunday Rumbles: Royal Enfield Rides and Crimson Waters at Eklingji There is something meditative about the thump of a Royal Enfield 350 Electra on a Sunday evening. As the sun began its descent, I took my bike out for a soul-cleansing ride toward the historic Eklingji Temple near Udaipur. The ride itself was a dream, but the visual surprises along the way were what really made me pull over and grab my camera. The Crimson Mystery: Water or Grass? Just off the main path, I stumbled upon a small pond (or perhaps a submerged plot) that completely stopped me in my tracks. It was entirely blanketed in a thick layer of red algae . From a distance, it’s an optical illusion. Is it a plush red carpet of grass? Or is it a hidden pond reflecting a surreal, alien world? Even looking through my lens, it was hard to judge. The vibrant red against the earthy tones of the surrounding landscape created a contrast that felt almost cinematic. Sunset Over Lake Baghela & The Mountains As I contin...

A Great Evening at Hotel Oliver Bhilwara | Food Photography & Review

Image
If you’re looking for a dining experience that punches well above its weight class in Bhilwara, I might have just found your new favorite spot. Last night, I headed out to Hotel Oliver Bhilwara  and honestly? I’m still thinking about the lighting. Here’s a breakdown of my evening, from the savory starters to the midnight cake cutting. Dinner at Hotel Oliver: A Pleasant Surprise I'll be honest—I went in with modest expectations, but Hotel Oliver blew them out of the water. From the moment I walked in, the ambience stole the heart. It has that rare balance of being sophisticated yet cozy, making it perfect for a relaxed dinner or a special celebration. The Food & Service I captured three shots of our main course (see below), and the preparation was top-tier. The flavors were nuanced, the presentation was clean, and the quality was much higher than I had anticipated. Prompt Service: There’s nothing worse than "hangry" waiting. Thankfully, the staff here was incredibly ...

Makaravilakku 2026: A Vision of Fire and Faith

Image
On January 14, 2026, I documented the second day of festivities at Shree Ayyappa Swami Temple . These frames capture the raw energy of the Makaravilakku Mahotsavam —from the rhythmic thunder of the drums to the heart-stopping moment a dancer braved the flames with torches tied to his waist.
